Frequently asked questions - Simon Clarke Films
How far will you travel?
I'll travel anywhere in the UK and indeed the world! In the UK I do charge a nominal travel fee for travelling over 100 miles from where we are based in Warwickshire. For travel over 2 hours away I may ask for accommodation the night before. For international destinations, travel and accommodation charges will apply.
Do I need to pay a deposit when booking?
Yes. I ask for a deposit of £500 to secure your booking. The balance is payable 1 month before the day.
What happens if you are ill on my big day?
It takes a LOT for me to be so ill I can't attend a wedding! FYI this hasn't happened yet. However, if the situation should ever arise, I have a great circle of fellow wedding videographers I can call upon to make sure your wedding is captured with your approval. If this could not be managed you would get a full refund.
What cameras do you use?
We use Canon 5D Mark III DSLR cameras and various external audio recorders for sound.
How long will it take to receive our finished film?
It normally takes between 6 to 12 weeks for full delivery of your films, but this is all dependent on what time of year it is. As you can imagine the summer months are crazy busy and editing takes a little longer due to the high volume of shoots.
Do we get to choose the music that goes with our film?
As a rule I say that I'll pick the music as it's such an important part of the film and I'd hate to ruin something with a bad/cheesy soundtrack. But with this in mind, I'm open to suggestions and am always listening out for the music that's used during the wedding to see if it would be suitable in your film. i.e. music played during dinner and the first dance etc.
Can we have all the RAW unedited footage?
This is not a service I offer. I spend a long time going through all of the footage to make sure I have all the best bits to include in your films.
Do I get all of the ceremony and the speeches?
Yes as part of your package you will receive the full ceremony and speeches with the DVD or as digital files on a memory stick.
